We’re always looking for people who want to be part of the Zine. Whether it’s contributing, designing, layout, distributing, performing at a gig or any other way you’d like to pitch in.
If you’d like to see your work in print send your article/poetry/story/photograph/artwork/recipe etc in the main body of an email, as a text attachment, completed pdf or jpg. Ideally no more than 500 words, we’re short on space and it’s nice to squeeze as many folks in as we can.
Please bear in mind that the risograph copy is basic b/w. Graphic images work best, full technicolour delicate watercolours wont translate to the print process, but if you’re happy we’re happy!
Designing and Layout
Anybody handy with Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, GIMP, Aviary or the fancier bits of Word? The ‘Zine always needs to look lovely and we’re really proud of the quality that it’s has achieved, thanks to a great bunch of talented folk. Theres always room for more, so if you reckon you can do a bit of layout or design, get in touch.
We grab Zines and put them in the most likely of places. If you reckon you’d like to shove more zines in more unlikely places, you’ve got a shop, a bar, community centre, hand them out around work or college, let us know and we’ll pass some on.
We’re always keen to put The ‘Zine into zine libraries, so let us know if you’d like some in yours!
We love a good party and we’d love you to be there too. Fundraisers happen whenever we need to rustle up a bit of cash for the printing. We usually have food, an info stall, an open mic and an amazing line up.
Whatever you want to do in front of an audience is fine; singing, poetry, storytelling, informing, showing films etc. Book a slot or turn up for the open mic, let us know what your requirements are and we’ll do our best to accommodate.
If you want to cook food to share thats always welcome.
Bring along any information you have; newspapers, flyers, zines, books etc.
If you want to help organise a gig all hands on deck is the name of the game, drop us a line.
