Jason Brown Interview May 2013

What events, activities, projects, organisations, etc, would you like to see more of where you live?
I’d like there to be more films and tv shows in the Midlands, people of the Midlands get a raw deal on their tv license as all their money leaves the region which means the jobs don’t stay around here either which is a massive shame as we have some extremely talented individuals and film production companies right here that aren’t getting the opportunities they deserve.

What is the epitome of beauty to you?
For me true beauty is about honesty, if you can be honest about who you are then you are beautiful.

Got any good jokes you want to share with us?
Two ducks walk into a bar and order a beer …it’s funny because ducks don’t have lips or hands and would probably struggle to drink beer.

What have been your highlights of 2013 so far?
I started dating my boyfriend on new years day so I got off to a great start, I’ve met a lot of really cool people and been involved with some really fun films and music videos.

If you could be paid to do anything in the world as a job what would it be?
I’d like to have my own cartoon series on Cartoon Network one day so if I had to pick only one job I’d do that, that or be Iron Man.

How do you feel about the current government and why?
I don’t like them, they’re leading a war against the poor, there are no opportunities for young poor people anymore, they’ve attacked education, they’ve attacked the disabled and they’ve even attacked the pasties.

If you could go back in time is there anything you would do differently?
Part of me wants to right all the mistakes but it’s the act of making a mistake and learning from it that makes you grow as a person, so I’m going to say no.

What do you think are the best things about being alive?

Making friends and having fun, don’t put off your dreams, make sure you do what you enjoy.

How do you think the education system could be improved?
Einstein once said “Everybody is a genius. But if you judge a fish by its ability to climb a tree, it will live believing that it is stupid”
The education system focuses too much on tests and teaching everyone the same way, different people have different ways of learning.

What talents, skills, knowledge or experience do you have that could help others?
I’m an animator and a film extra, I’d really like to share my animation and illustration knowledge, I hope one day I could do a workshop at the QUAD to pass along everything I’ve learnt along the way.

How could we survive without money?
We’d trade our time!
